Superhero movies/series usually have a heroic figure, a significant threat, and a world in need of rescue. But The Boys shatters this notion completely. It's chaotic and realistic. In this universe, heroes aren't saviors; they're celebrities. They have sponsorships, scandals, and enormous egos.Behind their smiles there are contracts, cameras, and a company named Vought controlling their every move.

Homelander stands out as the face of superheroes and The Seven(a team of legendary superheroes owned and managed by Vought International). He is an example of what an uncontrollable power can lead to.As time goes by, we see him becoming more lawless because of his power.

On the other side, there are our ‘The Boys’.The group was first founded by Grace Mallory (former Deputy Director of the CIA) and its first lineup included Billy Butcher,Frenchie and Mother's Milk.,However, after their activities resulted in the deaths of Mallory's grandchildren, she gave up on hunting the Supes and disbanded The Boys.Five years later, Butcher decided to reform the group after discovering a lead on The Seven through Hughie Campbell, prompting him to reunite with his old teammates, recruit both Hughie and Kimiko into The Boys, and restart their war with The Seven and Vought.

The show shines in its realism by not just asking if superheroes existed but questioning if we'd still want them around.
